An Exercise of Lament

Judy James is a lover of the Holy Trinity and of the water. As an empty nester, she defined her intense love of water with licenses which allowed her to work on boats. One license was a USCG 50 ton Near Coastal Master Captain with STCW certification allowing her to work in foreign ports. For fourteen years, she spent months at a time in the eastern Caribbean, also traveling to places such as Greece, Italy, and the Galapagos Islands. Being certified by American Sailing to teach Navigation and Advanced Coastal Cruising classes, she spent most of that time on week-long charters, teaching couples to sail. Off season, she worked as a licensed ACA instructor teaching kayaking, mostly to people who came to The Boat House, a boat rental facility on Lake Arrowhead, Georgia which she and her husband (Rob) own and operate. Judy has always had a passion for the LORD, and considers herself blessed to be able to facilitate spiritual formation classes and act as a (certified) spiritual director for an Atlanta based ministry. She considers spiritual health to be only a part of a package which includes emotional and physical health. Her interest in health has brought her to work part time for different doctors in the role of technician, giving brain maps, performing microcurrent neurofeedback for the brain, doing biofeedback scans, cool laser treatments, and pulsed electromagnetic therapy. Having grown up on a farm in Georgia and having graduated from Georgia Southern, she has spent her life in Georgia, living on Lake Lanier with Rob, her husband of over 40 years. Family is still a great love of Judy's and she is grateful for the time she gets to spend with their grown children and the grandchildren, all of whom live in the state.
